The beginning of summer is marked by Memorial Day weekend in many lakeside communities across the country. Here in Ohio it is also marked by the opening of local farmers markets. Across the state, drawing residents away from their lakeside homes, to visit and gather fresh, locally grown food. Families and friends take time to explore the bustling markets, filled with an array of colorful fruits, vegetables, and artisanal products. Connecting with local growers and producers, they appreciate the opportunity to support their community.
